Fairbrook Shelties is a small hobby show dog home, located about 45 minutes northwest of Washington D.C. in Maryland. We strive to produce beautiful Shelties as close as possible to the AKC Breed Standard, that are also healthy and with great temperaments. Each breeding is carefully planned in advance. We currently show in AKC Conformation Shows and plan to add Agility and/or Obedience in the future.
Occasionally, we might have puppies available for pet homes...check out the PUPPIES page for more information! Our breeding dogs are screened for CEA, PRA-CNGA1, PRA-BBS2, DMS, MDR1, vWD3, DM, Thyroid & Hips. Some of the dogs on the website are on co-ownership, so they might be "on vacation" in other states.
ABOUT US: My name is Lilian and I have owned several kinds of pets since I was 4 or 5 years-old. I grew up loving Collies, but when I saw a Sheltie for the first time, it was love at first sight! It was in Brazil, the country where I grew up, and at that time, Shelties were not as well-known as nowadays. I started studying the breed through magazines, imported books, and via internet. That was 30+ years ago... Fast forward to 2005, I finally purchased my first Sheltie - a bi-black boy - from Amy Massey (Kell Shelties). I owner-handled him to his Brazilian Championship and showed him a few times in the US. I took a break for a few years (I had 2 boys and because of work), but I'm slowly getting back to showing again...and starting a breeding program! We are Members of the Potomac Valley Shetland Sheepdog Club. I was the "editor" of the PVSSC Club's Newsletter - The Sheltie Seanachie (2021-2022). Click HERE to see past issues.
